its looks like it came out great! im trying to convert my old pants. how did you do it? i can find any good directions on line and i love how yours came out!
Thanks! I actually did it with no instructions. . . just some guidance from a a friend. As best I can remember, I : (1) cut the pants so they were a couple inches longer than I wanted the skirt, (2) undid the stitches of the remaining pant legs, (3) sewed the verticle bits together to create the skirt, allowing for a bit of a v-slit as you can see on the photo, and (4) sewed the bottom of the fabric twice, first zigzag to avoid unravelling and next a regular hem for the skirt (so the previous zigzag was turned toward the inside of the skirt and would no longer be visible). There was a lot of making my daughter try them on as I went, to check for tightness of skirt as well as length. Sorry it's so sketchy. I'd love to see how yours turns out. Good luck!
